A resident of Cienfuegos reported on Facebook that unknown individuals broke into her home in the early hours of the morning, stealing an EcoFlow Delta 2 Max portable battery, identification documents, bank cards, and cash totaling approximately 270,000 Cuban pesos (CUP) and 50 US dollars. The burglary took place around 3:33 a.m.

Disnei Quintana Brunet detailed the stolen items, stating, "They took an EcoFlow Delta 2 Max, a black bag containing all my and my mother's identification documents and cards, a large pink backpack with a waist bag, gloves, and a wallet with cash."

She specified that the wallet contained "around 30,000 CUP and 50 USD."

The most significant loss was the money from her store's sales: "Inside the backpack was approximately 240,000 CUP."

Quintana Brunet also noted that the perpetrators were unable to complete the theft: "They didn't manage to take the second EcoFlow because they ran out of time; the image shows it left outside in the hallway."

Attached images reveal a louvered window with potential signs of tampering, a room with cables and backup electrical equipment, and an open box in an external hallway where the second device was reportedly abandoned.

The victim confirmed taking immediate action: "The report has been filed, and necessary measures have been taken; we are waiting. Anyone with conclusive information about the EcoFlow, the backpack, or the documents should contact me!"

She also issued a warning to others owning similar equipment: "Secure your EcoFlows and panels as much as possible... the thief studies and seizes the best opportunity."

She expressed the struggle of such a loss: "We can't afford to lose the things we've worked so hard to obtain."

Several users speculated that the burglars were familiar with the household. "The thief is well-acquainted because they went straight for the money and everything stolen, indicating they knew the house's movements," one user commented. Another noted, "They went straight to the source because they knew you had money and where it was kept."

Others voiced skepticism about the authorities' response. "Hopefully, they catch the thief, but the police are more focused on those protesting against the dictatorship than on the thieves," one remarked. Another added, "Police officials need to perform their duties effectively because incidents like these are becoming widespread, yet there are few results."

The theft of EcoFlow devices has emerged as a documented issue in several provinces throughout 2026, driven by the high value of these devices in a country plagued by prolonged blackouts. In October, three men were arrested in Santiago de Cuba after stealing seven EcoFlow stations from a factory. In September, a Matanzas resident reported the theft of an EcoFlow and a solar panel following a window entry. In August, a family in Ciego de Ávila lost an EcoFlow and other equipment while they slept.

As of the closing of this report, the victim had not received updates on the investigation or the recovery of the stolen items.
