Cuban model and influencer Daniela Reyes marked her 29th birthday on Tuesday with a reflection that encapsulates her outlook throughout 2026: rather than making wishes, she chose to express gratitude.
In her birthday post on Instagram, accompanied by five photographs, she wrote: "This year, I blew out my candles but didn't ask for more. I thanked God for what I have, just as it is. The love surrounding me, the growth I've experienced, and the privilege of celebrating another year of life."
The photos feature Reyes posing with an intricate white cake adorned with red strawberries and lit candles, set against a backdrop of a carved marble fireplace and a white grand piano. The cake, crafted by Divine Delicacies Cakes, bore the words "Happy Birthday Daniela," and her hair and makeup were done by stylist Carlos Sigas.
The post garnered over 10,400 likes and 355 comments, including one from her mother: "Seeing you happy, surrounded by love, and thankful for so many blessings fills me with pride and joy. May God continue to light your path and may you always have reasons to smile. I love you endlessly, Mom."
Her followers warmly greeted her in the birthday post's comments. Some dubbed her "the queen of Cuban hearts," while another hinted at a potential future endeavor: "Happy birthday, my Daniela. Miss Grand Cuba awaits you."
Reyes' message of gratitude comes during a period of personal and professional maturity. This year, she gained significant public attention while competing in Miss Universe Cuba 2026 as contestant number 20 representing Pinar del Río, chosen from over 100 candidates. She was a crowd favorite during the pageant.
She also earned the title of Top Model of the Year at the Feather Fantasy Fashion Show, though the final gala crown went to Mia Dio, representing Isla de la Juventud.
After the pageant, Reyes broke her silence with a message of gratitude, acknowledging the new queen and revealing that some individuals tried to hinder her journey from the start.
