In the early hours of Tuesday, a fire erupted in northwest Miami-Dade, engulfing a trailer and damaging a nearby truck. A resident in an adjacent structure endured a harrowing ordeal, losing his belongings but fortunately, his four pets survived the inferno.

Telemundo 51 reported that the blaze ignited around 3:30 a.m. in the West Little River area, near 13th Avenue and between 79th and 81st Streets, where several vehicles were parked. The flames spread swiftly, breaching the trailer's roof and sending a thick plume of smoke into the sky. Local media outlets broadcast images of the blazing structure with emergency vehicles surrounding the scene.

Pets and Owner Escape Harrowing Fire

Vladimir Aguirre, who lives with another person and four pets in a structure adjacent to the burning trailer, experienced one of the most distressing moments. Upon arriving and witnessing the devastation, Aguirre was overwhelmed by the loss of his possessions and the uncertainty regarding his animals' safety.

Speaking to WSVN 7News, Aguirre expressed his inability to articulate the depth of his anguish over the losses. Initially, he was unaware if his dogs and rabbits had managed to escape the flames and suffocating smoke. However, several hours later, he confirmed that all four pets were safe, though the rabbits remained visibly shaken by the ordeal.

Explosion Captured on Surveillance Cameras

The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department (MDFR) and county sheriff's deputies responded promptly to the incident. According to WSVN, surveillance footage captured the rapid spread of the fire and an explosion that startled local residents. During emergency communications, an operator noted the sound of an explosion, though its source was initially unclear.

Firefighters successfully brought the flames under control and used specialized foam to prevent reignition. Aerial footage taken post-emergency revealed the charred remains of the trailer and numerous destroyed belongings. Fortunately, no injuries or hospitalizations were reported, as confirmed by Local 10.

Investigating the Cause: Electrical Fault Suspected

Initially, the Miami-Dade Fire Department suggested that a nearby electrical transformer failure might have sparked the blaze, according to CBS News Miami and Local 10. However, Aguirre mentioned to WSVN that firefighters had speculated about the possible explosion of charging batteries. This possibility remains unconfirmed, and the investigation is ongoing.
