Milenita Addresses Critics: "Lots of People Worried Whether the House is Mine or the Bank's"

Monday, October 19, 2026 by Robert Castillo

Cuban influencer Milenita (Milena Sánchez Rodríguez) has taken a stand against the backlash she received after announcing her purchase of a home in the United States. True to her style, she responded with a playful song and a pointed message to those questioning the legitimacy of her ownership.

The controversy was triggered by a comment from a user under her announcement, saying, "It's not yours yet; it belongs to the bank." Milenita quickly fired back with an Instagram reel, in which she sang an improvised song directed at the user she nicknamed "Caruca."

"I see a lot of people worried about whether the house is mine or the bank's. Listen, no matter whose it is, I'm the one who bought it, and that makes me the owner; my name is on the papers," she wrote in the video's description.

Originally from Matanzas and living in Miami since 2025, Milenita used this opportunity to address the broader Cuban community: "As Cubans, we need to learn to accept and celebrate the victories of others, and ours will follow."

The home purchase, alongside her partner El Puti, was announced on October 12 with photos showcasing the closing of the deal, the keys, and a celebratory cake.

A few days later, Milenita shared a video tour of the house's interior: several bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, wooden floors in the bedrooms, a chandelier, and a washer and dryer. The home was still being furnished, and she revealed that one of the rooms would be turned into a professional studio for recording videos and live streaming.

Responding to criticism with irony and unfiltered honesty is a hallmark of her public persona; she has done so previously regarding her makeup, medical studies, advertising rates, and parodies of other content creators.
