In the Spring/Summer 2027 edition of Paris Fashion Week, Cuban model Legna Blanco graced the runway, with the event taking place from September 28 to October 6, 2026.

According to Diario de Las Américas, Blanco hails from Güines, a town located in the Mayabeque province.

She is represented by Next Management Paris, an internationally renowned agency headquartered on the Boulevard de la Madeleine, with offices in New York, Milan, London, Madrid, Los Angeles, and Miami.

Listed as a "New Face" on her profile, Blanco's international modeling career is just taking off, yet she is already making waves in the highly competitive fashion world. She is also represented by NUantillas Models.

The journey from Güines to the Parisian runways marks Blanco as part of a new wave of Cuban models striving to make their mark beyond the island.

In February 2026, Jhayna Duarte became the face of a Chanel campaign, a significant milestone for Cuban talent in the global fashion arena.

In September, Rachel Chang, crowned Miss International Cuba 2026, walked for several designers at New York Fashion Week.

The stark contrast between opportunities abroad and the conditions for models within Cuba is evident. In April, model Ana Maura, known as "Azúcar Morena," revealed that local fashion shows paid a meager 75 Cuban pesos—less than 15 cents in U.S. currency—with payments delayed by two to three months, while working with international clients could earn between $100 and $400.

"The lowest-paying jobs are fashion shows," stated Ana Maura, whose experience highlights why so many Cuban talents aim to pursue opportunities outside the island.

The Spring/Summer 2027 Paris Fashion Week featured 68 runway shows and 33 presentations, organized by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, with prestigious fashion houses such as Christian Dior, Balmain, Stella McCartney, Chloé, and Polo Ralph Lauren among the participants.
