On Monday, Paula Martínez, the Spanish girlfriend of Cuban reggaeton artist Velito El Bufón, took to Instagram to discuss the impact of negative comments on social media and emphasize the importance of self-esteem in combating cyberbullying.

In the video posted on her Instagram account, Paula—who works as a flight attendant—began by expressing gratitude to her supporters before addressing the derogatory messages she often encounters.

"I wanted to use this video to thank all those who take the time to leave such beautiful comments on my posts. I'm incredibly grateful, as the love from followers is always warmly welcomed," Paula stated at the beginning of her message.

Nevertheless, Paula did not shy away from addressing the criticism. "Unfortunately, we live in a society where it has become normal to criticize others while hiding behind a screen or even a fake profile," she remarked, drawing attention to those who use anonymous accounts to attack others.

Paula emphasized that those who engage in such behavior reveal more about themselves than about the individuals they criticize: "People who are happy and secure in themselves don't feel the need to go from profile to profile judging and criticizing others."

"Thankfully, I've worked a lot on my self-esteem so these comments don't affect me. But I believe there are vulnerable people who can be deeply hurt by this," she warned.
