The Machado team recently reported three unsuccessful attempts to return from Panama, via both sea and air, without specifying who was responsible for these failures. Both were part of a group of opposition figures — including Magalli Meda, Pedro Urruchurtu, and Humberto Villalobos — who sought asylum at the diplomatic site starting March 2024 and were extracted in May 2025 through the "Guacamaya Operation," supported by the United States. Recently, leaders like Richard Blanco, Juan Pablo García, and Lester Toledo have also returned.
Henry Alviarez, Vente Venezuela's Organization Coordinator, views these returns as part of a gradual process: "This is a progressive matter. We are also working towards the arrival of María Corina Machado, which should occur soon."
Meanwhile, Rodríguez addressed the UN General Assembly, stating that "there will be elections in Venezuela" and announcing that political dialogue with opposition sectors has commenced, albeit without specifying any election dates.
Machado herself, speaking at an international democracy forum organized by the OAS to mark the 25th anniversary of the Inter-American Democratic Charter, expressed her hopes to return "very soon" and suggested that "the coming weeks" could mark a decisive phase for Venezuela.
