A 63-year-old man in Miami finds himself facing 14 counts of petty theft after being linked to a string of incidents over several months at Macy’s and Goodwill stores.
During a court appearance on Tuesday, the judge ordered him to stay away from the involved stores and set bail at $35,000.
Telemundo 51 reports, referencing Miami-Dade jail records and arrest reports, that the majority of charges stem from incidents at a Macy’s store in the Midway Crossings mall.
Police documents indicate that between June 9 and August 21, the man allegedly visited the store 12 times, leaving with unpaid merchandise totaling more than $3,000.
The reports describe a recurring pattern: the suspect would reportedly select items, place them in a bag, and exit the store without paying.

The investigation also connects the man to several incidents at a Miami Goodwill store. On September 17, reports state he placed goods worth around $115 into a bag and left without payment.
Authorities claim he returned to the same location on the morning of September 21, allegedly stealing several packs of bras valued at approximately $77.
Later that day, he returned once more to Goodwill. Police responded to the scene and arrested him, subsequently booking him into the Miami-Dade jail.
The records further reveal that the suspect has two prior convictions for petty theft.
