"Family, words cannot express the immense love and support I have received in these past days," the 30-year-old musician wrote in a bilingual message.

His statement highlighted the solidarity from friends, colleagues, artists, and strangers who stood by him during nearly a month of confinement at the Adelanto Immigration Processing Center in California, where he was taken following his arrest.

García Palacios was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents on August 15 at Los Angeles International Airport as he returned from an artistic performance. His lawyer, Avelino González, disclosed that agents were "waiting for him" at the airport, indicating a planned operation.

ICE claimed that the musician’s authorization to remain in the U.S. expired in May 2024, putting him at risk of removal. However, his defense argued that he entered the country legally, has an active asylum application, and has no criminal record.
