On Monday, the state's average price settled at $3.89 per gallon. This increase, however, does not entirely disrupt the stability observed over the summer months. For the past 45 days, prices hovered around $3.92 per gallon, maintaining a narrow range despite the global energy market's volatility.
"Drivers have experienced fluctuations in gas prices throughout the summer, but the overall trend has been fairly stable," stated Mark Jenkins, a spokesperson for AAA – The Auto Club Group.
Jenkins further noted, "Motorists head into Labor Day with fuel costs that are generally consistent with what they've been paying all summer long."

Despite this summer's consistency, comparing current prices to last year reveals a different narrative. The current average is 81 cents higher than the $3.08 per gallon that Florida drivers paid during the same period in 2025, translating to an additional $12 for each 15-gallon tank fill-up.
South Florida bears the brunt of the price hike. Monroe County, in the Florida Keys, leads with $4.16 per gallon, followed by Palm Beach County at $4.05, Broward at $3.93, and Miami-Dade at $3.91.
Regional Price Variations
Among metropolitan areas, West Palm Beach-Boca Raton tops the list at $4.06 per gallon, followed by Gainesville ($3.97) and Naples ($3.95).
Conversely, Panhandle cities offer the lowest prices: Panama City at $3.69, Pensacola at $3.70, and Crestview-Fort Walton Beach at $3.72.
Nationwide, the average price for regular gasoline in the United States stands at $4.08 per gallon, exceeding Florida's average.

The global energy market context partly explains the pressure on prices: Brent crude averaged $91.15 per barrel in August, compared to $83.76 in July, marking an 8.82% monthly increase.
