A 45-year-old Cuban man was taken into custody by the Guardia Civil following a violent altercation during the Son Ferrer festival in the municipality of Calvià, Mallorca. The incident resulted in a 22-year-old man being hospitalized after being struck on the head with a large stick.
The confrontation took place around 4 a.m. on Saturday during the final day of the Son Ferrer 2026 celebrations, as reported by OK Diario.
According to the report, the conflict erupted after a group of young individuals confronted the Cuban man, who was allegedly harassing a group of girls at a bar. The argument quickly escalated into a brawl, prompting initial intervention by the Calvià Local Police.
Despite police involvement, the clash continued. The Cuban man returned to his residence, followed by several of the young people, who allegedly assaulted him, resulting in fractured ribs.
After the assault, the man re-entered his home, retrieved a large stick, and went back outside, where he struck one of the young men, aged 22, on the head.
The injured young man was transported by ambulance to a hospital to receive medical treatment for his injuries.
The Guardia Civil, alerted by the victim's friends, arrived at the scene, questioned witnesses and those involved, and arrested the Cuban man on suspicion of causing bodily harm.
As of now, it remains unclear whether any legal action will be taken against the individuals who followed the Cuban to his home and assaulted him.
