Jocelyn Carabeo, a Cuban TikTok influencer known online as @iam_jocyy, has realized a significant dream: purchasing her first house with her boyfriend, fellow Cuban content creator Justin Harold, in Cape Coral, Florida.
"We dreamed of this moment for so long, and now it’s finally ours. Our first home together. Cheers to new beginnings, all the memories to come, and continuing to build our life together," Jocelyn shared on Instagram, where her post quickly garnered over 74,000 likes.
The couple celebrated in grand style, complete with a red carpet, golden stanchions with ropes, a balloon arch in red, white, and pink, ceremonial golden scissors to cut the ribbon, and inside the house, giant red foil balloon letters spelling "HOME." No half-measures when a Cuban unveils their new abode.
Two days after the announcement, Jocy uploaded a full tour of the property on TikTok, a video over four minutes long that surpassed a million views and accumulated 111,000 likes. With her usual flair, the content creator took viewers through each corner: the spacious, white living room she plans to fill with color, the master bedroom with patio views, and—importantly—two closets. "Here we have my closet, the bigger one, of course. It’s the first time I have a closet like this," she admitted with laughter.
The kitchen, as any good Cuban would prioritize, was the first area to be set up: "The kitchen was probably the first thing I managed to fill up because, well, we had to eat." The guest room is ready with an inflatable mattress for when family visits, while the second bedroom has already been "invaded" by the couple’s dogs, who have their own plans for the pool.
Speaking of the pool, it’s undoubtedly the home’s highlight. "This is definitely my favorite part of the house, the pool. It’s saltwater," Jocy noted. "I love this part of the house because from here, we can see some beautiful sunsets."
What makes this story even more remarkable is that the couple purchased the home without having seen it in person, traveling straight from another state for the closing. "I was their eyes throughout the whole transaction," their realtor explained.
In recent years, Cape Coral has become a favored destination for Cubans seeking property outside Miami, drawn by more affordable prices and a quieter environment. Several Cubans have shared their experiences moving to this southwestern Florida city, weighing the pros and cons.
Jocy, who boasts over 1.8 million followers on TikTok, summed up the moment with a phrase that says it all: "The happiness doesn’t fit in our chest."
