"La Bunga" had been previously introduced as a "librisco" — a combination of book and disc — associated with the Spanish publisher Media Vaca. Now, it formally transitions to a discographic edition under an American label, marking a significant step toward the material's distribution.

As is customary in his performances, Ferrer will share the stage with his daughter Lena Ferrer, a singer and songwriter born in Havana, who frequently collaborates with her father. They will be joined by what Ferrer affectionately calls his "tiny ensemble": “As always, I will share the stage with my daughter Lena Ferrer and our very small band. This isn’t Ferrer's first birthday celebration concert in Miami. In September 2022, he marked his 70th birthday with a performance at the James L. Knight Center. Now, four years later, he repeats the formula at a different venue, with the added excitement of a new album release.

Ferrer is one of the most censored figures in Cuban music, having faced decades of bans on state radio and television, and even a two-year prohibition on public performances, courtesy of the regime. Living between Spain and Miami, he continues to publish and perform with the freedom that was systematically denied to him in Cuba.
