Victims of Collapse at Former School in Remedios Identified

The tragic collapse at the former ESBEC La Uno in Remedios, Villa Clara, has claimed the lives of two individuals: Luis Alberto Rojas Julién, aged 24, and Francisco González Navarro, aged 77. Both were residents of Caibarién.

The official Facebook page Soy Villa Clara announced on Thursday that after more than 16 hours of intensive search and rescue efforts, the bodies of the last two people trapped in the rubble were recovered.

Survivor Emerges from the Rubble

The sole survivor of the incident, Jorge Luis Pardo Águila, 29, was pulled out alive from the debris on Wednesday night. He is currently receiving care in the Neurology ward at the Arnaldo Milián Castro Provincial Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition, as stated by Lieutenant Colonel Ernesto Lima Guevara, head of operations for the Villa Clara Fire Department.
