Jesaaelys Ayala, the daughter of renowned artist Daddy Yankee, shared an emotional video on her Instagram account, documenting the hours leading up to the birth of her first child, Eira Del Mar. The baby was born on July 22 at 2:41 PM.
In the vlog, Jesaaelys offered a glimpse into her preparations, with her mother, Mireddys González, by her side for support.
The delivery was medically induced, and it was eventually decided by the medical team that a cesarean section was necessary. Her husband, Carlos Olmo, was present throughout, providing unwavering support.
Jesaaelys approached the situation with calmness and faith, stating, "It wasn't what we hoped for, but once again, we accepted God's will, which is the most important thing," she mentioned in the video.
In the post's description, the Puerto Rican influencer expressed her gratitude towards her doctor and the medical team. "Thankful for my doctor, who supported me through the process. We all hoped for a vaginal delivery, but the baby didn't descend despite our efforts. We accepted God's will, and thanks to Him, our daughter is healthy," she wrote.
The journey to this point was challenging. At 34 weeks, Jesaaelys was diagnosed with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, a liver condition posing risks to the baby, prompting the doctors to induce labor at 37 weeks, although she had hoped for a natural birth at 40 weeks. "I accepted God's will. What matters most is the health of the baby and mom," she had stated at the time.
Eira Del Mar holds a special significance as a "rainbow baby," a term for children born after a pregnancy loss. The couple had experienced a miscarriage in September 2025, just weeks before their wedding on October 4 of the same year.
The announcement of this new pregnancy was made on February 13, 2026, with a video by the sea and the message, "A little bit of you and a little bit of me. A promise from God."
With Eira Del Mar's arrival, Daddy Yankee becomes a grandfather for the second time, as his son Jeremy is also a father. The singer, who retired from music in December 2023 to focus on his Christian faith, did not publicly comment on the pregnancy or birth. It should be noted that following his divorce from Mireddys, he has no relationship with Jesaaelys.
"After waiting so long, you're finally here with us. We love you, princess of our hearts. Thank you, God, for this blessing," Jesaaelys wrote to announce her daughter's arrival, with the post garnering over 179,000 likes in just a few hours.
