While on vacation, Cuban singer Bebeshito received the news he'd been longing for years to hear: his nomination for the 2026 Premios Juventud. Without missing a beat, he shared his emotional response in a video on Instagram, emphasizing his determination to win.
"It's another day when life shows you that dreams do come true. Here I am on vacation, and I wake up to find out I'm nominated for Premios Juventud, something I've been striving for years," expressed the artist, born Oniel Ernesto Columbié Campos.
Announced on Tuesday, the nomination places him in the "New Male Generation" category, alongside nine other artists: Clarent, Damn Goldo, DFZM, DIA, Juan Duque, Kris R., Maisak, Santos Bravos, and Sebas Barcenas.
However, for Bebeshito, just being nominated isn't enough. His video made it clear what his objective is: "This award has to go to Cuba, it has to go to the neighborhood, it has to go to Bebeshito, because you all put me here."
The artist urged his followers to vote for him in large numbers. With his trademark sincerity, he stated he has no qualms about asking for votes: "I am an artist without any ego, so I don't mind going to a mall and asking anyone to turn on their phone and vote for me, because I don't live the artist life."
His message resonated with fans, as the reel garnered over 25,000 likes and more than 1,100 comments in less than a day.
Riding a Wave of Success
This nomination adds to a string of successes for the Cuban artist. In August 2025, he became the first local artist to fill Miami's Kaseya Center, drawing nearly 20,000 attendees. Following that, Billboard recognized him as one of the 26 Latin artists to watch in 2026, and by March this year, he celebrated earning 24 gold and platinum records certified by the RIAA.
Historic Premios Juventud Ceremony
The Premios Juventud 2026 gala is set for September 3 at the Starlite Amphitheater in Marbella, Spain—marking the first time in the event's 23-year history that it will take place outside the Americas. The ceremony will be broadcast by Univision, UNIMÁS, Galavisión, and ViX.
"I can't leave this mission halfway; I can't just be content with being nominated. I have to win it, I have it in my mind, and I know it's possible," Bebeshito concluded, with the same fervor that has propelled him this far.
Congratulations, Bebeshito!
