Public Clash Between Alexis Valdés and Zajaris Fernández: "You're a Disgusting Human Being"

Monday, July 20, 2026 by Oscar Fernandez

On Sunday, Cuban comedian Alexis Valdés was involved in a heated public confrontation with actress Zajaris Fernández at a Miami bar-restaurant during the 2026 World Cup final. Fernández detailed the encounter in a 31-minute Instagram live session early Monday morning.

According to Fernández, the incident began when Claudia Valdés, Alexis's partner, approached her with a request to leave the area: "I don't know, could you kindly leave the spot where we are?" Claudia allegedly asked.

Refusing to move, Zajaris found herself repeatedly confronted by Alexis Valdés—four times, as she recounted—who accused her of speaking ill of his daughters and allying with media personality Alex Otaola: "You sided with Otaola and all that crap," he reportedly said.

During one of these confrontations, Valdés allegedly struck her phone while she attempted to record him, breaking the screen and rear camera, and shoved her, prompting bystanders to physically intervene: "People had to step in to separate him, to get him off me," the actress described.

Zajaris called the police, who responded to the scene, documented the incident, and ordered Alexis Valdés and Claudia to leave the premises. There were no arrests, as Zajaris requested not to press charges despite her lawyer's advice to do so.

The actress mentioned the only real issue between her and Valdés was an unresolved financial matter from years ago: "The only problem we might have is about some money. Nothing else."

Regarding the accusations of being allied with Otaola, Zajaris categorically denied them: "I haven't spoken to Otaola for two years. Still, I support his principles where they align with mine."

Otaola himself confirmed the incident on Instagram, clarifying that he and Zajaris haven't communicated in two years, thus dismissing Valdés's claim of an alliance.

The altercation unfolded in front of numerous witnesses and in a venue equipped with security cameras, a point Zajaris emphasized during her live broadcast.

She condemned Valdés's behavior as "abusive" and likened it to the actions of the Cuban regime: "Today, you showed a socialist-communist, abusive attitude, breaking my phone."

Despite the shock, Zajaris claimed to have remained calm throughout the ordeal, concluding her broadcast with a strong statement: "Down with dictatorship and those who act like dictators, regardless of their side."

The tension between Alexis Valdés and Otaola dates back to 2022, when Otaola accused him of underpaying artists, and their mutual animosity persists to this day.

This isn't the first time Zajaris has been involved in such an incident; in May, she accused rapper Aldo of assaulting her outside her home.

The police report from Sunday's incident is expected to be available approximately 14 days later, around August 2.
