Seidy La Niña's Unplanned Street Encounter in Cuba: "I Had to Get Out of the Car"

Thursday, July 16, 2026 by Daniel Colon

Cuban singer Seidy La Niña found herself having to stop her car and step out onto the street in Guanabacoa, a district in Havana, after being recognized by her fans during her visit to the island. This trip marked her return to Cuba after nearly seven years.

The spontaneous encounter was captured in a video shared on her Instagram, where she wrote, “I went out to the street and had to get out of the car. My people of GUANABACOA.” The post quickly garnered over 53,000 likes and more than 1,000 comments.

As she drove through the neighborhood, fans recognized her and expressed their desire to take pictures with her and interact publicly, prompting the artist to pause her journey to engage with them.

Seidy's return to Cuba on Tuesday, July 14, was emotionally charged from the start. Upon setting foot on the island, she recorded a video in a street exclaiming, “After almost 7 years, I am in CUBA.”

Born on July 4, 1994, in El Cotorro, Havana, Seidy moved to Miami with her mother around 1999 when she was about six years old. She has been living in the United States for over 25 years.

Despite the long years away, she has always maintained a strong connection to her homeland. In August 2024, she encapsulated this sentiment with a phrase that resonated with her followers: “I left Cuba, but Cuba never left me.”

Known as the “Queen of Reparto” for her unique blend of Cuban rhythms and urban music, the artist publicly vowed in May 2025 to return to perform in Cuba, stating, “I’m going to sing in Cuba... I would love to sing for the people,” during an appearance on the show Destino Tolk.

The episode in Guanabacoa highlights the deep-rooted affection Seidy La Niña holds among Cuban audiences on the island, even after years of absence and a career built entirely abroad.

As of now, there has been no official confirmation on whether her visit to Cuba will include live performances or concerts, something her fans are eagerly anticipating during or after this stay.
