Three individuals have been apprehended by the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office (MDSO) following allegations of breaking into a residence in the southwestern part of the county, where they reportedly stole more than $359,400 in cash from the master bedroom.

The suspects, identified as Pablo Arrechavaleta, 49; Leonel Alejandro Ramírez, 47; and Antonio Mesa, 47, committed the burglary shortly after 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The incident took place at a house near the intersection of Southwest 157th Avenue and Southwest 181st Terrace.

According to the arrest report accessed by Local 10, the trio leaped over a concrete fence to enter the backyard, initially attempting to break in through a window without success.

They eventually gained entry by forcing open a rear French door with a screwdriver, resulting in approximately $1,000 in damages.

Inside the home was a 14-year-old teenager at the time of the invasion.

Once inside, the suspects "ransacked the master bedroom on the second floor" and "made off with a total of $359,400 USD" before fleeing the scene, as per the official report.

The authorities responded swiftly; an MDSO helicopter tracked the suspects as they fled the premises and got into a four-door SUV driven by Arrechavaleta.

The suspects were intercepted shortly after leaving the property, and all three were arrested without incident.

After receiving medical evaluations, Arrechavaleta and Mesa provided both verbal and written confessions admitting their involvement in the crime. Ramírez, however, chose not to cooperate with the authorities.

The trio faces a range of felony charges, including burglary of an occupied dwelling, grand theft, and criminal mischief. Additionally, Mesa and Ramírez were charged with possession of burglary tools.

As reported by NBC Miami, the suspects appeared before a judge on Wednesday and are being held without bail.

Furthermore, Arrechavaleta and Ramírez have been placed under immigration holds.

This incident is part of a series of high-value residential burglaries recently recorded in the western and southwestern areas of Miami-Dade.

In March, two individuals from Cuba were arrested for stealing approximately $100,000 in jewelry, watches, and cash from a home in the same region of the county.

In July, another man faced charges for allegedly stealing $33,000 in cash, jewelry, and televisions from the residence of an elderly person in Miami-Dade.

Despite a 28.85% decrease in home burglary incidents in the county in 2024 compared to the previous year, organized and high-value thefts continue to occur in the area, according to official county data.
