Despite Canada's statistical advantage in possession (55% to Morocco's 45%) and total shots (12 compared to four), both teams had three shots on target. Canada also led in corners (11 to one) and committed more fouls (24 to 14). Each team received four yellow cards, with no dismissals. Morocco, however, proved more effective with their opportunities.

The tournament concludes for Canada, who made history by advancing past the group stage in a men's World Cup for the first time. The African team reached the round of 16 by defeating the Netherlands in a penalty shootout (3-2) after a 1-1 draw in regulation on June 29 at Monterrey's BBVA Stadium. They finished second in Group C with seven points, achieving a 1-1 draw with Brazil, a 1-0 victory over Scotland, and a 4-2 triumph over Haiti.
