A Cuban family of six members remains unaccounted for in La Guaira, Venezuela, following the catastrophic earthquakes that struck on June 24, 2026.

Their disappearance was reported early Saturday on the Venezuelan citizen platform venezuelatebusca.com, where they are listed as "missing," accompanied by a group photograph and a contact number for anyone with information.

The family members being sought are Alain Rodríguez Rojas, Yadina de la Caridad Yáñez, Teresa Rojas Rodríguez, Raudel Diosdado Rodríguez Cabrera, Dylan Xander Rodríguez Yáñez, and Gladys María Padrón.

According to the details on the platform, "they are a family residing in La Guaira in the Oasis and Resjurel buildings," which are located in one of the areas hardest hit by the earthquakes.

Among the missing is Yadina de la Caridad Yáñez, a cycling instructor known as "Yadina La Cubana," who was last seen at the Hotel Chipis Beach in Catia La Mar before the quakes struck.

Anyone with information on the family's whereabouts is encouraged to call 04.144.314.297, as indicated in the search notice.

The earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude, rocked northern Venezuela just 39 seconds apart and are considered the strongest recorded in the country since 1900.

La Guaira has been declared a disaster zone: over 250 buildings have collapsed, the José María Vargas Hospital was destroyed, and the Maiquetía International Airport was closed due to severe damage. Access to the state has been restricted since Friday, June 26.

Official reports confirm 1,430 deaths and over 3,360 injuries, while the United Nations estimates up to 50,000 people are missing across the country. The United Nations Development Program estimates direct damages at $6.7 billion.

This family is not the only unresolved Cuban case. At least 29 to 32 Cubans have been reported missing on citizen platforms, most concentrated in La Guaira, in areas such as Caraballeda, Catia La Mar, and Los Corales.

Among the confirmed tragedies is that of Cuban child Vanessa Martínez, whose death was confirmed on Sunday, while her brother Dayan Martínez remains missing. Both lived with their father, a Cuban doctor, in the Coral Beach building in Los Corales.

Despite the documented cases, the Cuban government has denied having official data on their affected citizens. Ana Teresita González Fraga, the director-general of Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated on Sunday, "So far, we have no official confirmation of any nationals who are injured, deceased, or missing."

The venezuelatebusca.com platform, a voluntary and non-profit initiative created by entrepreneur Julia Alessandra Mariano, recorded 71,837 people as of Saturday's close, with 54,257 still missing and 17,580 found. Over 1,600 rescuers from 16 countries are involved in search and rescue efforts in Venezuela.
