In a candid interview, Argentine President Javier Milei expressed confidence that the Cuban regime will crumble without direct intervention. Speaking for over an hour with Cuban journalist Ismael Cala on the podcast The Abundance Revolution, Milei's remarks were released on social media last Friday.

Milei asserted emphatically, "Cuba will eventually fall on its own." He went further, predicting that when Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio enter the island, they will do so "walking," encountering no resistance.

The imminent collapse, according to Milei, is due to the halt in Venezuelan oil supplies from PDVSA, which had sustained Havana, leading to the severe power outages affecting the Cuban populace.

Drawing a parallel with Venezuela, Milei declared, "Just as they ended the scourge of Venezuela, they will end the scourge of Cuba," openly supporting Washington's pressure on both regimes.

A highlight of the conversation was when Cala inquired if Milei would lend a chainsaw to Rubio. This was a nod to the chainsaw symbol, representing spending cuts, which has become Milei's trademark. Milei clarified that he had gifted the iconic item to Elon Musk, not Trump, and said he had "no issue" in offering one to Rubio.

Praising the U.S. Secretary of State, Milei described him as "a person I hold great affection for, alongside immense respect and appreciation for his extraordinary work."

Cala emphasized on Instagram that the statement "Cuba will be free" was among the most powerful declarations of their discussion. The interview also touched on Trump, Rubio, and the potential for a new era in Cuba.

The Cuban journalist encouraged followers to listen to the full episode "for context and without clipped headlines."

Milei's comments come amid intensified pressure from Washington on Havana. On May 1, Trump enacted a new executive order imposing secondary sanctions on Cuba, targeting foreign banks and companies dealing with Cuban entities.

Subsequently, CIA Director John Ratcliffe visited Havana to deliver an ultimatum to the regime, and the Department of Justice declassified federal charges against Raúl Castro for the 1996 shootdown of Brothers to the Rescue planes.

This isn't the first time Milei has predicted the end of the Cuban regime. In March, at the CPAC in Budapest, he claimed Cuba would be free "before mid-year" under Trump's leadership.

In May, during the Milken Institute Conference in Beverly Hills, he called for Trump's American dream to soon reach Cuba and Venezuela, noting the island's 67-year lack of freedom.

The interview with Cala also delved into Milei's personal life, discussing childhood traumas, his connection to the Torah, and his views on a new romantic relationship. It was part of the launch for the Cuban journalist's new book, "The Abundance Revolution."
