On Friday, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a meeting with NATO's Secretary General, Mark Rutte, during the gathering of Foreign Ministers of the Alliance in Helsingborg, Sweden. Meanwhile, the Cuban regime was mobilizing military personnel, police, and public workers to the Anti-Imperialist Tribune on Havana's Malecón for a rally in support of Raúl Castro.

Following the meeting, Rubio took to X to emphasize the need for the Alliance to commit to "rapidly scaling up defense production, expanding the transatlantic defense industrial base, and turning spending commitments into real combat capabilities."

"A stronger Europe means a stronger NATO," declared the Secretary of State.

As Rubio was negotiating in Sweden, the regime in Havana organized a demonstration in front of the U.S. Embassy, initiated by the Communist Youth Union, scheduled for 7:30 a.m. on Friday.

The rally was a response to the federal criminal charges filed by the U.S. Department of Justice on May 20 against Raúl Castro for the downing of two Brothers to the Rescue planes on February 24, 1996, a crime that resulted in the deaths of four Cuban Americans.

The charges include conspiracy to murder U.S. citizens, destruction of civilian aircraft, and four counts of homicide.

Last Thursday, Rubio labeled Raúl Castro as a "fugitive from U.S. justice" and stated he would not disclose his plans to bring Castro to court.

In retaliation, the regime has orchestrated a series of institutional support events combining state machinery with forced mobilization.

The Cuban Council of State and Parliament issued statements dismissing the charges as a "farce," while the regime turned workplaces into venues for political acts, with workers being summoned during work hours.

The U.S. Embassy in Havana warned last Thursday about the Cuban government's planned demonstration in front of its premises for Friday, highlighting the orchestrated nature of the mobilization.

On Friday morning, military personnel, police, and workers began gathering at the Anti-Imperialist Tribune, encapsulating the regime's essence: while its principal accuser was negotiating global security in Europe, Havana responded with a show of uniformed force in front of the embassy of the country demanding justice for four citizens murdered nearly 30 years ago.
