Cuban-American trumpeter Arturo Sandoval is set to be honored with the Order of Isabella the Catholic, one of Spain's most prestigious civilian awards, on Tuesday, May 19. The musician shared the exciting news on his Facebook page this past Friday, expressing his heartfelt emotions.
"With deep emotion and immense gratitude, I wish to announce that on the upcoming May 19, I will have the tremendous honor of officially receiving the Order of Isabella the Catholic, one of the highest distinctions granted by the Kingdom of Spain," Sandoval wrote.
The award will be presented by the Spanish consul in a ceremony that, according to the musician, promises to be "profoundly special and moving."
"As a musician, a Cuban, and as a human who has dedicated his life to music, I never imagined experiencing something so meaningful," he added.
