Aymée Nuviola Unveils Upcoming Albums and Performs Live for CiberCuba Audience

Monday, May 11, 2026 by Samantha Mendoza

Aymée Nuviola concluded her live interview with CiberCuba on Monday by sharing exciting insights into her upcoming music projects and performing for viewers. The session ended with applause as fans enjoyed her song "Ponte Bonita," which debuted in February.

Known as "La Sonera del Mundo" and a recipient of two Grammys and two Latin Grammys, Nuviola confirmed, "I'm finishing up two albums," during her conversation with journalist Tania Costa.

One of these albums, still tentatively titled and associated with the group "Más con Menos," features Eduardo Ramos, a percussionist and bandleader based in Mexico. However, Nuviola noted that the final name is yet to be decided.

Live Jazz Album from London

The second project is a live album recorded at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London. Described by Nuviola as "the cathedral of jazz," she explained, "We recorded an album at Ronnie Scott's in London, England, and we are working on its release because it's 'live.' It's live music recorded entirely there."

Nuviola credits her venture into Latin jazz to her collaboration with Cuban pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba, a partnership from five or six years ago that introduced her to the international jazz scene.

Salsa Album and Grammy Consideration

Additionally, the singer revealed that the album "Caché," produced in Puerto Rico with maestro Pete Perignon, is completed and submitted for the Latin Grammy in the salsa category. "It's a salsa album made in Puerto Rico with maestro Pete Perignon, and it's the one we're submitting to the Latin Grammys in the salsa category this time," she stated.

Nuviola also discussed her involvement in the album "Renacimiento" by Salvadoran producer Samuel Quiroz, where she recorded two songs: a rumba flamenca with the gypsy artist Negri (Enrique Heredia) and "Reencuentro," a rendition of Álvaro Torres' song now available on all digital platforms.

Emotional Connection to "Reencuentro"

Regarding "Reencuentro," Nuviola expressed, "It's like an emotional journey for all of us who migrate. But how many Cubans experience going back to the neighborhood and finding out that someone has passed away or moved to Spain? You start living in a mirage, holding onto memories of things that are no longer."

European Tour and Upcoming Performances

Nuviola announced a European tour scheduled mainly for November, with performances in the Canary Islands—Fuerteventura and Tenerife—Madrid, and Italy, along with engagements in Puerto Rico for the patron saint festivities in Hatillo and a project with the program "Sesiones desde La Loma," hosted by Norberto Vélez.

At the end of the interview, upon public request, Nuviola performed a live excerpt from "Ponte Bonita," her empowering anthem for women.

She concluded with a phrase that captures her relentless work ethic: "Always moving, always moving, tirelessly. Don't stop. Keep working."
