Carlucho Fires Back at Carlos Otero's Recent Remarks: "If You Knew What I Have, You Wouldn't Have Mentioned Me"

Monday, May 4, 2026 by Daniel Colon

On Monday, Cuban comedian and media personality José Carlos Pérez, known as "Carlucho," took to Instagram to release a lengthy and emphatic response to Carlos Otero's recent statements.

In his post, Carlucho levels serious allegations against Otero, hinting at the possibility of revealing documents that could allegedly expose the popular host's ties to the Cuban regime.

"Pipo…my boy…now don't run, don't run… if you've been deceiving this community all this time, don't run now," the message begins, coinciding with the day Carlos Otero admitted to signing a Cuban State Security document in which he agreed to report any plots against Fidel Castro's life.

Alleged Connections to the Cuban Regime

Among the more severe accusations, Carlucho claims to possess a document concerning urban reform that purportedly shows how the Council of State awarded Otero a house in Miramar.

"I have the urban reform document that clearly states how the Council of State gave you the Miramar house, and I'm going to publish it," Carlucho asserted.

He further alleges to hold documents regarding a Lada car that Otero supposedly left for his son in Cuba, who, according to Carlucho, never received any remittance from his father.

Tax Fraud and Hidden Deeds

Carlucho also mentions having testimony from accountants indicating that Otero allegedly tried to list his mother as a dependent to reduce his taxes, a request reportedly denied by his sister.

The most explosive claim Carlucho says he holds is a photograph Otero allegedly claimed to have destroyed, showing him wearing a cap adorned with four stars.

"You appear wearing a cap with four stars, and only the murderer, dictator Raúl Castro has those stars, and you wore it. If that's a lie, deny it and I'll post it unedited," Carlucho challenged.

Threats and a Tense History

The comedian threatened to sell the image to channels 23 and 51 and give it to presenter Alexander Otaola, with whom Otero is rumored to have professional ties.

Carlucho reminded Otero that he played a pivotal role in bringing him to the United States, leaving a stark message: "You saw how I brought you here, now I want to show you how I can take you out."

The conflict between Carlucho and Carlos Otero reignited in April 2026, when Otero stated in a podcast that he "would never work with Carlucho again," emphasizing that their friendship had ended.

Carlucho initially responded calmly in a CiberCuba interview, admitting he enjoys being hated, a sentiment that foreshadowed Monday's escalation.

Their rivalry dates back to their collaboration at América TeVé, a Miami-based Spanish-language channel, where Carlos Otero hosted the TN3 show for 15 years until his dismissal in May 2022.

As early as December 2019, Carlucho had criticized Otero, a sentiment that resonates even louder today: "My mistake was bringing him, but I'll rectify it. If I brought him, I'll send him back."

This Monday, he reiterated that stance. "Otero, if you knew what I have, you wouldn't have dared to speak about me. It's not the same to mention the devil as to see him coming... I had forgiven you," Carlucho concluded, hinting at the possibility of releasing all the documents he claims to possess.
