Tuesday, April 28, 2026 by Alexander Flores

Yomil Hidalgo took to social media to express his feelings following Jacob Forever's concert last Saturday at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Florida. The concert featured a heartfelt tribute to two late icons of Cuban reggaeton: El Dany and El Taiger.

On Instagram, Yomil shared, "Huge shoutout to @jacobforever, congratulations on everything, legend. History always rewards the wild ones. You absolutely crushed it as always." The message was accompanied by an image on the stage's screen showing two men together, capturing one of the night's most emotional moments.

Under the title "Celebrating His Immortal Career," the concert took place on April 25 at the Watsco Center, which holds over 6,000 people and sold out completely. This event further established Jacob Forever as one of the most popular Cuban artists in exile.

The tribute to El Dany and El Taiger was particularly meaningful for Yomil. El Dany, whose real name was Daniel Muñoz, was Yomil's inseparable partner in the duo Yomil y El Dany. He passed away on July 18, 2020, due to an acute cardiovascular condition in Havana.

El Taiger, born José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar, was found shot in the head on October 3, 2024, in Miami and died a week later at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the age of 37.

Jacob Forever had both personal and professional ties with these artists, and his gesture of honoring them deeply resonated within the Cuban exile community.

The musical connection between Jacob Forever and Yomil is also significant. They collaborated on the song "Tienes que verte eso," released in October 2022 as part of Yomil's album Sensei, a posthumous tribute to El Dany.

Other artists joined the Watsco Center concert, including Alexander Delgado, El Chacal, Dany Ome, Kevincito El 13, Wow Popy, Divan, and Yotuel Romero.

A standout moment was the performance of "Puente Libertad" with El Chacal and Yotuel, sparking a unified call for Cuba among the audience.

Jacob Forever also shared a tender moment on stage, declaring his love for his girlfriend Roxana Rivero with, "I love you, my dear," marking another memorable instance of the night.

The investigation into El Taiger's murder remains unresolved. Damián Valdez-Galloso, known as "El Narra," faces first-degree murder charges, yet the trial has been repeatedly delayed without a set date.

On the first anniversary of El Taiger's death, Jacob Forever posted on Instagram, "It's been a year since your departure. Rest in peace [...] We miss you so much, Titingui," further demonstrating the strong bond he holds with those who have passed.
