Son's Heartfelt Tribute from Miami as Pedrito Calvo Turns 84

Renowned Cuban singer Pedrito Calvo recently celebrated his 84th birthday, and his son, Pedrito Calvo Junior, sent a touching and joyous message from Miami, capturing the love of their family and the admiration of countless Cubans.

Pedrito Calvo Junior took to Facebook to share a heartfelt birthday greeting filled with humor and family warmth. He tagged his father while sharing a photo where both are seen smiling and wearing wide-brimmed hats at a leisure spot.

The elder Calvo, famously the leading vocalist for Los Van Van for nearly three decades, received his son's message that playfully noted, "Wow! Already 84 years! Maybe 85, if you were indeed born in 1941 and grandma registered you a year later."

Junior expressed his desire to celebrate his father's milestone, despite the distance, as he resides in the United States to pursue his own musical career, following in his father's footsteps.

"The truth is, reaching such an age is something only a select group carries with grace and the desire to keep making history as you do. We love you—children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and I'm sure many millions of the Cuban people," the younger Calvo elaborated.

He concluded with a heartfelt "Happy Birthday, Dad!"

This isn't the first time Junior has publicly honored his father. When Pedrito Calvo turned 79, his son also dedicated a touching message on social media, a tradition that has continued through the years.

Despite the geographical separation, the young Calvo, who leads his own orchestra, maintains a close bond with the legendary singer.

Last March, Pedrito Calvo himself performed alongside Los Van Van and Mayito Rivera in Peru, proving that even in his 80s, he remains actively engaged in his artistic career.
