Cuban Content Creator Shares Frustrations of Life in Cuba

The Cuban content creator Jonix Dose recently took to Instagram to express a sentiment shared by many Cubans: the true burden isn't just the scarcity of resources, constant power outages, or endless lines, but the harsh realization that these issues aren't likely to improve anytime soon.

"Do you know what truly bothers people about living in Cuba? Yes, the shortages are frustrating, the money that never stretches far enough is aggravating, the never-ending queues are maddening, and of course, the blackouts are infuriating. All of that takes a toll, but what really breaks people is realizing that none of it is temporary," Jonix explains in his video.

His reflection highlights not just the problems themselves, but their persistent and indefinite nature. "It's waking up each day thinking about what you can fix today instead of dreaming about what you can build for tomorrow. It's putting in the effort only to remain stagnant, working hard and seeing no progress," he elaborates.

He continues, "It's watching your life slip by while you're stuck in survival mode, and your plans are perpetually on hold. Slowly but surely, it frustrates, it exhausts, it weighs you down."

Jonix concludes his video with a poignant question: "Until when? Because the issue isn't just living this way, it's feeling like there's no end in sight for life to change in Cuba."
