Yubrán Luna has once again captured attention with a comment that stirred significant discussion. The Cuban actor left a remark on a viral post criticizing Imaray Ulloa for her contentious video about so-called "gold diggers," and his words did not go unnoticed.
The uproar began when Imaray shared a reel that quickly set social media ablaze. In the video, the Cuban influencer mocks men who claim they don't want women interested in wealth, comparing them to celebrities like Cristiano Ronaldo and Brad Pitt. "Did she ask for a mansion? Land? A private jet? No, right? Gold digger? Do you really think she's a gold digger?" she quipped.
The clip garnered nearly 159,000 views and over 20,000 likes but also faced a torrent of criticism. Many believed the comparison was out of context and ridiculed middle-class men.
Last Sunday, Panamanian content creator @iamfrankthonys responded with a more than six-minute video that also went viral. Armed with statistics, he dismantled Imaray's argument point by point: average post-tax salaries in the United States range from $1,700 to $2,100 monthly, dining out can cost between $60 and $700, and minimum wages in Latin America range from $380 to $600 a month.
"Comparing a billionaire to a middle-class, hard-working individual is an absurdity," he declared, aiming a personal critique at the Cuban influencer: "Don't mock poverty, the poverty you left behind when you left Cuba."
It was within the comments of this post that Yubrán Luna, who was Imaray's partner for seven years, made his presence felt with a statement that many saw as a veiled jab at her.
"The issue isn't ambition or loving money; the issue is being only that...," the actor wrote, leaving the ellipsis and all.
The comment, subtle in its delivery yet heavy in implication, prompted followers of both to speculate.
Yubrán and Imaray were together from 2014 until August 2021 and co-starred in the show "Ni Luna Ni Miel."
After their breakup, Imaray began dating Cuban plastic surgeon Fabián Fontaine, with whom she resides in Miami, publicly introducing him in February 2022.
Yubrán acknowledged in a January 2024 interview with host Carlucho that he did not love her as he should have and was not what she deserved.
Now, with his comment on the viral post, the actor reemerges without directly attacking his ex but also without defending her, leaving behind an open-ended statement that invites personal interpretation.
