The incident, which left the senior citizen severely injured, occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, as confirmed by official sources.
The Facebook page "Claridad Tunera," associated with the Ministry of the Interior (Minint), reported on Wednesday that a group of criminals broke into the victim's home on March 31. During the home invasion, they brutally beat the resident with the intent to rob him. Items stolen included solar panel batteries, a horse from the stable, a saddle, and cash.
The statement highlighted that the collaboration between authorities from various municipalities and the support of local residents facilitated the capture of one of the perpetrators. Officials have assured the public that the other assailants "will also be caught and brought to justice." The identity of the apprehended individual has not yet been disclosed.
According to a report from the Facebook page "La Tijera," the victim, a 72-year-old cattle rancher, was attacked by a group of five to six individuals with "excessive violence." The elderly man suffered multiple blows to the head, face, and body, resulting in severe contusions and serious facial injuries.
