Cuban Living in Italy Vows to Die for the Regime: "If Bombs Arrive, Let Death Come"

Thursday, March 26, 2026 by Olivia Torres

An Italian-residing Cuban, associated with pro-regime groups, has declared her willingness to sacrifice her life in defense of Cuba if the nation ever comes under attack. This statement was made public through a video she shared on social media while in Havana.

The individual in question, Ada Galano, leads the National Coordinator of Cuban Residents in Italy (CONACI). She voiced these sentiments during a live broadcast as she engaged in activities associated with the so-called solidarity convoy, "Our America."

In the video, Galano addressed circulating rumors online about potential assaults on the island. She affirmed her resolve to remain in Cuba even under such dire circumstances.

"If the bombs were to fall and I had to die here in my homeland, defending it, then let death come," she asserted.

The activist further declared that in the event of a conflict, she would join the armed defense of the nation.

"I will stand with my people and will also request my rifle," she stated.

Her comments add to earlier remarks made during an official meeting with Miguel Díaz-Canel, where she advocated for arming Cubans abroad who support the government with AKM rifles to defend the system.

Galano claimed to represent Cubans living outside the island who are supportive of the regime and defended the actions of the convoy, which she said has been delivering medical supplies as part of its aid efforts.

The "Our America" group comprises activists, foreign organizations, and Cuban expatriates who maintain a pro-government stance, participating in supportive initiatives amid the country's ongoing crisis.

These statements arise amidst escalating tensions and internal challenges in Cuba, characterized by power outages, food shortages, and declining basic services. This situation has sparked divergent opinions both domestically and internationally.
