Cuban pianist Víctor Campbell recently took to social media to celebrate his involvement in an Oscar-associated production, highlighting his journey from Esmeralda in Camagüey to becoming part of the U.S. film industry.

In an Instagram post, Campbell expressed both excitement and gratitude for his achievements.

"I am extremely thankful to God… Just think about it: from Esmeralda, Camagüey, Cuba, to the Oscars," he wrote, summarizing his personal and professional path to this prestigious stage.

Campbell emphasized that his involvement was the result of years of hard work and invaluable experiences, particularly his connection to New Orleans, where he has lived for several years.

"So many things had to happen for this to be possible, thanks to New Orleans, its people, its music," he stated.

The artist contributed to the soundtrack of the film Sinners, composed by the acclaimed musician Ludwig Göransson, a multiple Oscar winner.

From Soundtrack to Scene

Campbell also noted his participation in scenes from the feature film, making his involvement a comprehensive experience within the cinematic project.

"Thank you for allowing me to add my little grain of sand to this ocean that is the film… I am truly honored to be a part of this," Campbell expressed, directly thanking Göransson and his team for the opportunity.
