Fiu Fiu Takes a Stand on Marko's Chaos Show, Sends Strong Message About Cuba: "My Country is Dying and Crying from Hunger"

Monday, March 16, 2026 by Edward Lopez

Cuban influencer Fiu Fiu, whose real name is Rayner Tamayo, delivered a powerful political statement on Sunday during his appearance on the digital reality show El Desorden de Marko. Broadcasted live on YouTube, Fiu Fiu used the platform to declare himself "the voice of a weeping nation" and demanded freedom for Cuba. In a follow-up video, he criticized Cuban influencers who remain silent about the plight of those suffering on the island.

The show, conceived by Venezuelan comedian Marko Pérez, boasts over 42 million followers on social media and an Emmy award from 2018. It features 15 to 17 participants from various countries living under 24-hour camera surveillance for three and a half weeks. The top four finalists will star in an original series produced by Marko.

Among the first confirmed contestants, Fiu Fiu made his stance clear from the onset. "Today, my sole purpose here is to raise my voice for all of Cuba. My entire country is dying and crying from hunger, longing for freedom," he proclaimed to the cameras.

Based in Miami, the content creator took aim at Cuban dictator Miguel Díaz-Canel and other regime officials, while also expressing solidarity with those battling in Venezuela. "We stand with everyone fighting in Cuba and those still struggling in Venezuela. This reality show offers a unique chance to speak out against the dictatorial regimes," Marko expressed.

The footage of Fiu Fiu's entrance garnered over 15,000 views, 3,475 likes, and 346 comments within hours. In another exchange with Marko, Fiu Fiu criticized Cuban artists and influencers who, despite rising to fame with Cuban public support, refuse to speak up for those suffering on the island. "You're a disgrace if you can't appreciate and speak up for what helped you rise," he declared.

Fiu Fiu's message hits amid an ongoing debate within the Cuban exile community regarding content creators' responsibilities amidst Cuba's political and humanitarian crisis. Influencer Samantha Hernández recently faced widespread criticism for refusing to discuss politics and later addressed the backlash about her silence on Cuba's crisis.

Meanwhile, figures like Rachel Arderi have demanded an end to the dictatorship, and Andy Vázquez has explained Cuba's harsh realities to Samantha Hernández.

Fiu Fiu's personal journey lends weight to his words: he emigrated from Cuba, journeyed through Latin America, slept in subway stairwells, and ate from trash bins in Brazil before reaching Miami with the generous help of two Cuban women who sent him money selflessly. "We either stand or we don't. We either love our homeland or we don't. And Cuba doesn't belong to the Castros. Cuba belongs to all of us," he concluded.
