Officials in Hialeah have disclosed the names of seven individuals among the fourteen apprehended in a recent crackdown on a suspected network involved in drug trafficking, prostitution, and illegal gambling at the bar-café "La Lunita," situated in the western part of Miami-Dade city.
The nationalities of those arrested remain unknown at this time.
According to reports from Univision, the identified individuals are:
- Karelia Pupucastillo, 35 years old.
- Glenda Muñoz Vargas, 34 years old.
- Alberto Guerra Alcorta, 35 years old.
- Félix Samon, 62 years old.
- Abel García, 39 years old.
- Yoslen Ramos, 41 years old.
- Ibis González, 49 years old.
Reports indicate that some of the detainees face drug possession charges, while others had outstanding arrest warrants.
In one instance, a suspect attempted to dispose of a bag containing what appeared to be cocaine prior to arrest.
Suspicious Activities at "La Lunita"
The investigation revealed that the establishment served as a distribution point for narcotics. The arrest report highlights that Yoslen Ramos, the security guard, acted as a doorman and was identified by undercover agents as allegedly responsible for drug sales within the premises.
During the operation, authorities also discovered evidence of illegal alcohol sales and bookkeeping records related to clandestine gambling machines.
Four such machines were confiscated during the raid.
Immediate Closure Following the Raid
The identification of these seven suspects follows the raid conducted on February 13 at the business located on 8 Court in western Hialeah, part of an operation named "Operation Falling Moon."
According to the police, approximately 35 individuals were present inside the establishment during the intervention, engaged in illicit activities, as stated by authorities.
Subsequent to the raid, Hialeah Mayor Bryan Calvo announced the city's immediate closure of the business.
Federal agents also detained three individuals on immigration-related charges.
