Trump Claims Complete Destruction of Iranian Military Leadership

Sunday, March 1, 2026 by Sofia Valdez

On Sunday, U.S. President Donald Trump declared that the entire military leadership of Iran has been eliminated following joint airstrikes by the United States and Israel.

In a broadcast on his social media platforms, Trump hailed the elimination of Jameini and stated, "The entire military command has also vanished, and many are eager to surrender to preserve their lives."

"They seek immunity. Thousands are reaching out. Combat operations are proceeding with full force and will persist until all our objectives are achieved," he added.

Trump urged members of the Revolutionary Guard, the army, and the police forces to lay down their arms and accept immunity, warning them of "certain death" should they refuse.

He also encouraged Iranian citizens who desire political change to "seize the moment."

The Republican leader described the operation, dubbed "Epic Fury," as "one of the largest, most complex, and overwhelming military offensives the world has ever witnessed." He emphasized that "nothing like this has been seen before," in defense of the scale of the joint operation with Israel.

Trump noted that within the first 36 hours, hundreds of targets on Iranian soil, including Revolutionary Guard facilities and air defense systems, were hit. He also claimed the destruction of nine ships and the country's naval headquarters within minutes.

He specified that the operations continue "with full force" and will proceed until all military objectives set by Washington are met. Trump did not provide a timeline for the end of the campaign but acknowledged the possibility of further casualties before its conclusion.

In his address, Trump justified the military action as necessary to prevent the Iranian regime from acquiring nuclear weapons and long-range missiles. "We will not allow a radical terrorist regime to possess such weaponry," he asserted.

On Saturday, alongside the death of the ayatollah, Israel reported the elimination of seven senior Iranian commanders.

The deceased include Iran's Defense Minister, Aziz Nasirzadeh, and the commander of the Revolutionary Guard, Mohammad Pakpour.

Additional casualties include Ali Shamkhani, a senior advisor to Iran's supreme leader and former Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council; Saleh Asadi, a high-ranking Ministry of Defense official linked to strategic planning; and Mohammad Shirazi, head of the Military Office of the supreme leader.

Others killed were Hossein Jabal Amelian, a senior official in the Ministry of Defense’s logistics department; and Reza Mozaffari-Nia, a senior figure in the Iranian military-industrial sector associated with defense programs.
