The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has firmly denied any American casualties following attacks allegedly carried out by Iran, as reported on Saturday.

In a post on X, CENTCOM labeled as "falsehoods" several claims propagated by the Iranian regime and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) regarding alleged fatalities, hits on warships, and significant damage to U.S. military bases.

Specifically addressing the assertion that Iran had killed 50 American soldiers, CENTCOM stated unequivocally that "no U.S. casualties have been reported."

The military command also refuted IRGC's claim that a U.S. Navy vessel had been struck by missiles, emphasizing that "no U.S. Navy ships have been hit," and the Navy remains "fully operational."

Minimal Damage and Continued Operations
CENTCOM further dispelled rumors of severe damage to American bases, reporting instead that any damage was "minimal" and had not hindered operations.

President Donald Trump declared that Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, "is dead," celebrating the occurrence as "justice" and linking it to "close collaboration with Israel."

Previously, CENTCOM had warned of potential "collisions and escalations" due to live-fire naval exercises announced by the IRGC in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

Washington urged Tehran to operate "safely and professionally," cautioning that it would not tolerate actions deemed dangerous to international navigation or to its forces stationed in the region, which is a crucial passageway for global energy trade.

Earlier in February, a U.S. fighter jet shot down an Iranian drone that, according to the Pentagon, approached the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea "aggressively."

The White House described the move as an act of self-defense, while Tehran maintained the drone was on a routine reconnaissance mission. This incident underscored the fragile military balance in the area, amid intermittent diplomatic contacts and escalating warnings.

Tensions escalated further a week later when Washington ordered the deployment of the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford from the Caribbean to the Middle East.

This maneuver bolstered the U.S. naval presence alongside the Abraham Lincoln and its strike group, amidst stalled negotiations over Iran's nuclear program and public warnings from President Trump about potentially "very traumatic" consequences if an agreement with Tehran was not reached.

The buildup of military forces and the hardening of rhetoric from the Trump Administration set the stage for heightened tensions leading up to the actions resulting in Khamenei's death.
