A disturbing attack on the headquarters of the Free Cuba Union Party (PUNCLI) has been brought to light by the legal organization Cubalex. On Friday, Cubalex reported an arson incident at the building located in San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa province.

According to Cubalex's sources, early in the morning, several individuals hurled objects onto the roof of the house, which serves as the opposition party's headquarters, igniting a fire.

Those inside the building were alerted by a neighbor who witnessed the event, enabling them to extinguish the flames before significant damage occurred.

The report suggests that the individuals responsible may be linked to State Security, as they have previously been observed conducting surveillance and monitoring operations against activists and dissidents in the area.

Cubalex emphasized that this assault is part of a broader pattern of systematic harassment against the organization, reflecting the ongoing threats and intimidation faced by activists and opposition figures in Cuba for peacefully exercising their rights.

The organization also mentioned that there are images showing the damage to the roof and remnants of the materials used to start the fire. Cubalex has called on potential witnesses or victims of similar incidents to reach out safely to help document these occurrences.
