Cuban Influencer Reveals Rental Nightmare After Two Months of Unpaid Rent in Florida: "This is Insane"

Tuesday, February 24, 2026 by Oscar Guevara

Mai Algarete (@mai_algarete), a popular figure on TikTok known for her ventures in importing mobile homes from China and renting them out, left her followers stunned by revealing the condition in which a friend allegedly left one of her properties after two months of unpaid rent.

In her video, Mai takes viewers on a tour inside the mobile home, highlighting the damage: scratched floors, paint splattered on the ground, walls altered from their original color, and even names painted directly onto the walls. "Just look at what he did in two months," she exclaims, visibly upset.

She also points out a ventilation system clogged with dirt, stains on various surfaces, and areas that, she claims, were in pristine condition before being rented out. She hints at even worse conditions in the bathroom, suggesting it was not suitable for use.

What stands out most, however, is the fact that the tenant wasn't a stranger. Mai explains that she chose to rent to someone she knew, only for the situation to end in disappointment. “Never rent to friends or family; no one appreciates it,” she warns emphatically.

Mai recounts how, in addition to not receiving the agreed-upon rent, she was also covering utilities like water and electricity while the tenant offered nothing but excuses. Ultimately, she had to cut the power because she could no longer bear the financial burden. “I was paying for everything, and still they claim I wasn't supporting them,” she laments.

Now, in addition to regaining possession of her property, Mai faces the task of investing in cleaning and repairs to make it livable again. “The least they could have done was leave it clean,” she says, contemplating the cost of fixing the damages.
