In a bold move this Sunday, Venezuela's acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, announced the dissolution of seven entities, including missions and foundations, which were integral to the power structure of Chavismo.

The Official Gazette revealed the closure of the Socialist Mission Foundation New Frontier of Peace, the Youth of the Nation Robert Serra Foundation, the Presidential Office for Special Plans and Projects (OPPPE), and the Propatria 2000 Foundation.

Additionally, the Bolivarian Revolutionary Movement of the Active Reserve General in Chief Félix Antonio Velásquez Foundation, the Strategic Center for Homeland Security and Protection (CESPPA), and the José Félix Ribas Foundation (FUNDARIBAS) were also terminated.

The decree cites the necessity for "implementing pertinent changes to ensure the fulfillment of collective interests" as the reason for these closures.

The reorganization aims to streamline the operations of the Ministry of the Presidential Office, as the government seeks to "align its organizational structure with new social directives and policies."

Independent media outlet Efecto Cocuyo highlights that four of the dismantled organizations were established by the now-deposed Nicolás Maduro.

These changes come amidst a series of dismissals and reshuffles within the government apparatus, affecting ministries such as Tourism and the Presidential Office.

The opposition party Primero Justicia views this action as "the dismantling of Chavismo at the hands of Chavismo itself."

They caution that this "should not merely be a document to create the illusion of cooperation and reconciliation with the nation," they warned.
