Solutions Will Always Be Found for Challenges, Says Miguel Díaz-Canel

Cuban leader Miguel Díaz-Canel asserted that "solutions will always be found for challenges, no matter how complex the situation," referring to a series of immediate measures approved by the government to tackle the fuel shortages in Cuba. The Cuban authorities attribute this crisis to what they describe as an "energy blockade" imposed by the United States.

The announcement was made during a special session where decisions targeting electricity generation, transportation, and other prioritized sectors were presented.

The measures aim to address the fuel shortage affecting both electricity generation and transportation. Additionally, there is a push to accelerate the development of photovoltaic solar parks and other renewable energy sources.

This initiative also covers strategic areas such as local food production, water supply, transportation, and the assurance of basic health and education services.

During the session, Díaz-Canel mentioned that the government had outlined "a series of measures" that had already been under development. He claimed that the level of planning achieved was approached "with responsibility" and "intelligence and creativity," which, in his view, "inspires confidence."

He emphasized, "life has shown us... that solutions will always be found for challenges."

The president also highlighted how, in his opinion, the country's leadership and the people have confronted the current circumstances. He noted the support received from entrepreneurs, entities, and countries willing to work with Cuba "despite pressures."

In his remarks, Díaz-Canel mentioned that the "morality," "resolve," "courage," "realism," "objectivity," and "optimism" with which the situation is being faced have generated "confidence, admiration, and support" for Cuba from "many people around the world."

During this exchange, Díaz-Canel stressed the importance of consistent and precise communication to keep the population informed.

The report indicated that discussions were not only focused on the approved measures but also on the outcomes of their implementation.

As part of the communication strategy, the text notes that Roberto Morales Ojeda, a member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee, explained the actions that political and mass organizations, media, and institutions would undertake to support the dissemination of adopted decisions.
