Iván García Pérez regained his freedom this Thursday after being held for over two months by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), as confirmed by journalist Javier Díaz.
García, who holds an I-220A immigration status, was detained on November 7, 2025, following a routine immigration appointment in Miramar, Florida.
Initially confined at a center known as the "Alcatraz of the Caimans," García was later moved to other facilities, eventually ending up at the Broward Transitional Center (BTC) in Broward County.
