Saturday, January 17, 2026 by Oscar Guevara

A resident of Cuba has gained viral attention on social media after showcasing the spacious home his friend, a hairdresser, bought for just $10,000.

The video, shared on TikTok by a creator known as El Cubanito sin Filtro, has sparked hundreds of comments due to the surprising size and condition of the property.

"Join me as I visit the house my hairdresser friend bought while living in Cuba," the influencer begins in the clip, which has already garnered thousands of views. The tour reveals that the home consists of five rooms, a large backyard, and even an additional outdoor bathroom.

"This is the first room, which is quite large, my love; this is the second, slightly smaller; this is the third, which is large again; this is the fourth, and finally, this is the fifth, which they plan to use as a kitchen," the TikToker narrates while showing the rooms.

The video also highlights that the main bathroom requires a complete renovation, but the creator is confident in his friend's ability to fix it: "He's resourceful with these things, so I feel it will turn out beautifully."

The hairdresser intends to use one of the exterior bathrooms to serve clients once he sets up his business at home. "Look at this massive house," the influencer remarks, visibly impressed, as he shows off the large yard with an included water tank.

The property, as detailed, cost a total of $10,000, a figure many users considered low given the size and overall state of the house, considering the high current prices in the Cuban real estate market.

In the comments section, several internet users expressed their astonishment at the price: "Too expensive for how rundown it is," wrote one user, while another noted, "I don't know why properties in Cuba are so expensive when they're so old."

The trend of Cubans buying or renovating homes within the country has grown in recent years, especially among those receiving remittances from abroad, amid an economic crisis and a general increase in the cost of goods.
