Sandro Castro Dances to Maduro's "Peace Forever" in Front of U.S. Embassy

Sandro Castro, the grandson of Fidel Castro and a frequent figure on social media, has once again stirred controversy. This time, he posted a video of himself dancing outside the U.S. Embassy in Havana to the tune of Nicolás Maduro's "peace forever."

In the footage, Sandro sports youthful attire, including a Mercedes Benz cap, while holding a small Venezuelan flag as he jumps in front of the diplomatic building.

The video, enhanced with visual effects, features Maduro's voice saying "Yes, peace, peace forever," followed by "this is called Tarzan talk." These phrases are reminiscent of the dictator's recent speeches, where he would sing and dance while urging the U.S. government not to attack Venezuela.

Recorded at a location steeped in political symbolism, many viewers interpreted the scene as both a provocation towards the United States and a mockery of the Venezuelan dictator.

By choosing Maduro's slogan—a leader accused of systematic human rights violations and responsible for Venezuela's political and economic collapse—Sandro amplifies the message's tone of mockery and defiance.

"That's how he'll dance when Trump comes for his grandparents," commented one user on the post.

"Better sleep in your clothes, just in case," advised another.

"The last one who danced like that got a vacation to New York, kiddo," added yet another.

"That remix was made to mock Maduro, and that's what he's doing—making fun of Maduro and Cuba. He doesn’t care; he knows he's untouchable in the country," said a resident from Santiago.

This gesture comes just days after the capture of the former Venezuelan leader by U.S. forces, an event that has shaken the regional geopolitical landscape and left the Cuban government in a precarious position.

It's not the first time Fidel Castro's grandson has used social media to send ambiguous and provocative messages.

The day following Maduro's arrest, Sandro released another video, introducing himself as "the Vampirash, adjusting my international lens," expressing solidarity with the Venezuelan people, and advocating for freedom and democracy to be determined by the citizens themselves.

In that same message, he called on Donald Trump for a fair trial for the former Venezuelan president.

However, the recording concluded with a puzzling and suspicious phrase: "What did you do with the 50 million? Whoever has it, send me a secret message."

This reference to money did not go unnoticed, especially among those following the stories about Maduro's capture and the rewards offered, sparking sarcastic and biting remarks from netizens.

While activists, independent journalists, and ordinary citizens in Cuba face fines, summonses, and imprisonment for critical opinions, Sandro Castro enjoys a freedom that starkly contrasts with the country's reality.

His family name grants him a level of impunity, allowing him to mock, provoke, and publicly flaunt without fear of legal repercussions.

The new video outside the U.S. Embassy, with the Venezuelan flag in hand and Maduro's slogan in the background, once again highlights the gap between the privilege of a select few and the hardship of millions of Cubans who cannot openly express their views.
