Cuban Comedian "Engages" in a "Serious Talk" with Trump: "Cuba Has Oil Too"

Saturday, January 10, 2026 by Alexander Flores

Sergio Barrios, a Cuban comedian widely recognized on social media as El Explotao, once again brought laughter to his audience after staging an unusual yet "serious" dialogue with a wax figure of former U.S. President Donald Trump.

In a video he shared across his platforms, Barrios stands before the wax replica of Trump in a museum and, with a solemn tone, declares, “Listen closely to what I’m about to say, Donald Trump, most honorable Donald Trump. There’s oil in Cuba too. I need you to go to Cuba, you understand? There's hidden oil in Cuba. No one knows, but it’s there.”

Continuing his distinctive monologue, the comedian implores Trump to replicate the operation conducted against Nicolás Maduro, who was recently captured by U.S. forces.

“I need you to go after Díaz-Canel and arrest him just like you did with Maduro. But please, if it could be earlier, because one might be asleep and miss those golden moments,” he humorously clarifies.

With exaggerated gestures, El Explotao concludes, “Cuba has oil and... well, maybe not, but there has to be some underground. So, I need you to arrange an extradition and extradite President Díaz-Canel. Can it be done? Thank you, most honorable Donald Trump.”

The video quickly went viral among Cubans both on the island and abroad, who applauded the comedian’s ability to blend political satire, popular wit, and international current events.

Through his unique brand of humor, Barrios captures the frustration felt by many Cubans who, on social media, call for U.S. intervention in Cuba, and most notably, for Díaz-Canel to be taken away just as Maduro was.
