On December 31, 2025, more than 250 Cubans facing difficult circumstances had the opportunity to enjoy a New Year's meal in Havana, thanks to a charitable effort spearheaded by the private enterprise 5K Bar and the humanitarian group "Con Amor Todos Juntos."
According to a post in the Facebook group "Venta de casa en CIENFUEGOS CUBA Y MAS," the event was organized by Hugo Puig González, owner of the business, alongside Yenier Toledano Torres, the founder of the solidarity project. They successfully hosted a complimentary dinner in a setting filled with respect, joy, and dignity for those in need.
"More than 250 individuals enjoyed a festive meal brimming with joy and love. The menu included roast pork, rice and beans, root vegetables, mixed salad, fine desserts, and non-alcoholic drinks. Additionally, five bags containing clothing, blankets, and footwear were distributed. Everyone received five-star service," Toledano remarked.
This initiative was made possible through the support of numerous donors who collectively raised 42,200 Cuban pesos and 5 MLC, resources that ensured the food and gifts provided during the event.
"Thanks to God and our brother Hugo Puig González for allowing us to be part of this wonderful act of love. A heartfelt thank you to all the amazing individuals who made it possible to bring a little happiness to those in greatest need," Toledano expressed in a message of gratitude.
In a nation plagued by food shortages, power outages, and declining purchasing power, efforts like this showcase how private initiatives and citizen solidarity are stepping in to address the needs of the most vulnerable families.
