Authorities have recently apprehended the individual believed to be responsible for fatally stabbing young Jimmy Castillo Veranes last Friday in the city of Guantánamo, as reported by a source linked to the Ministry of the Interior (Minint).

The suspect, identified as Richard Ayala Rubio, has been accused of murdering Castillo Veranes on the night of December 26th, according to the Facebook profile "Guantánamo y su Verdad".

The official account disclosed that the tragic altercation arose from a dispute between the victim and his assailant over "personal differences," which escalated into the deadly confrontation.

Ayala Rubio allegedly attacked Castillo Veranes with a knife at the intersection of Paseo and Pedro A. Pérez streets in Guantánamo's capital, inflicting severe injuries.

Despite being rushed to the Dr. Agostinho Neto General Teaching Hospital, the young man succumbed to his injuries shortly after due to their severity.

The statement clarified that Ayala Rubio is currently detained and is "under investigation for his alleged involvement in the murder," ensuring that "the proceedings are being conducted according to the law and with respect for due process."

The profile expressed its "condemnation of any form of violence" and extended condolences to the friends and family of Castillo Veranes, "trusting that justice will be served."

The murder of Castillo Veranes gained attention through social media platforms, following his family's allegations, who also criticized the police for delaying in providing them with information regarding the case.

The deceased's sister, known as Thalia Beatriz, demanded justice for her brother while expressing the family's profound grief over the loss. Castillo Veranes was reportedly expecting a child, as revealed by his sister.

"I am making this post demanding justice for my brother. They killed him on the 26th, and the Guantánamo police have yet to come to our house to provide answers or have any clue about who could have done such a thing to my little brother," she lamented this past Sunday.

Overwhelmed by the tragedy, she added: "We are left with a devastated mother, a grieving sister, an aunt, siblings, a father, a pregnant woman, all because of some individuals who decided to take his life as if it were nothing. All I ask is for justice for my brother, please, let this not be another case that remains unsolved."

In another poignant message, Thalia Beatriz shared her love for her brother and the void his absence has left: "It's so hard, little brother, it seemed like I didn't love you because we were like cats and dogs, but how hard it is to see your empty bed, walk past your room and realize you're not there and will never be again; it's the second night without you, my angel, and I swear I can't handle this. It's a feeling that grips my soul and shatters every part of me... and how could it not, when you were my everything. I love you, my life, I will always love you, eternal light for you."

The killing of Jimmy Castillo Veranes has sparked sorrow and outrage in Guantánamo, where the community has unanimously condemned the crime and is demanding a decisive response from the judicial system.
