Passenger Truck Overturns, Injures Three in Ciego de Ávila

A truck carrying passengers overturned in the town of Majagua, located in Ciego de Ávila, resulting in injuries to three individuals, including a young girl and two adults.

The injured were identified as a 14-year-old girl who suffered multiple contusions but no fractures, and two adult women. One of the women sustained a head contusion without a fracture, while the other experienced hand pain and bruising, also without any fractures, according to reports from state-controlled sources.

An additional adult woman was treated at the scene after she reported a headache and high blood pressure, which was promptly managed with medication.

Remaining passengers were transferred to another vehicle to continue their journey towards the eastern part of the country.

The causes of the accident are currently under investigation, the report concludes.

In a separate incident last Sunday, a tragic traffic accident occurred early in the morning on the National Highway near Aguada de Pasajeros, in Cienfuegos province. This accident claimed the lives of at least two individuals and left several others injured.

The crash took place at kilometer 188 of the highway when the driver of a passenger bus reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, causing the vehicle to collide with the back of a semi-trailer truck.
