The U.S. Embassy in Havana is postponing its consular services for American citizens this Monday because of an event organized by the Cuban regime.

"The U.S. Embassy will delay the opening of its services on Monday, December 22, 2025, until 10:00 a.m. due to a regime-organized event in the plaza in front of the Embassy," the diplomatic mission announced on X.

"All streets in the area will be closed to vehicular traffic. We remind U.S. citizens to avoid large gatherings. If you have emergencies outside business hours, please call +(53) (7) 839-4100, press 1 and then 0," they added.

The Cuban regime will host the National Central Event for Educator's Day at the so-called José Martí Anti-Imperialist Platform in Havana this Monday.

"Educators from various generations and educational processes will gather at this historic location to reaffirm that #WithFidelInEveryClassroom, we will continue to speak with pride and gratitude," reads a post from the Ministry of Education.

On Sunday, the Cuban regime lashed out against the U.S. following the seizure of a second oil tanker in international waters of the Caribbean Sea, off the coast of Venezuela, an operation attributed to U.S. forces.

Official response came from Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla through a message posted on X.

In his statement, Rodríguez Parrilla condemned the incident and labeled it as a "new act of piracy and maritime terrorism" by U.S. forces against an oil tanker and its crew.

According to the Cuban Foreign Minister, the event is a continuation of a pattern of "complete disrespect and violation of International Law, Maritime Law, and the freedom of navigation and trade."
