The Cuban influencer Samantha Espineira has reemerged on social media alongside her legal team to firmly refute claims made by Sandro Castro, grandson of the late dictator Fidel Castro. Sandro recently alleged that he had a relationship with Espineira “before the pandemic.”
In a video shared on her platforms, Espineira expressed her frustration over what she described as a “completely false controversy,” emphasizing that she has never been associated with anyone linked to the Cuban dictatorship.
“A controversy has arisen that is entirely untrue, touching on sensitive political topics related to my country, a nation I have always defended. I want no association with anyone tied to the regime,” she declared in her video.
The content creator recounted how Sandro Castro contacted her via WhatsApp, recalling that he had acquired her number years ago when he approached her for a party project with his then-partner, which never materialized. According to Espineira, Castro used this connection to fabricate a humorous piece implying false claims.
“He knew I would address this publicly and wanted to imply he had something with me, which is a thousand percent false,” Espineira emphasized, noting that during the alleged time of her connection with Sandro, she was in a stable seven-year relationship, “and all of Havana knows it.”
During the video, one of her attorneys intervened, warning that when someone goes beyond expressing an opinion and spreads completely false statements, they can be accused of defamation.
The attorney's statement suggests that Samantha might be considering legal action against Sandro Castro for damaging her image and reputation.
Sandro Castro Defends His Claims
Samantha’s statements surfaced shortly after Sandro Castro insisted on his narrative through an Instagram story. The dictator’s grandson asserted that “everything was true” and that the supposed encounter took place “before the pandemic.”
“What happened with Samantha took place years ago, before the pandemic. Everyone has a past; life is about the present and future. But I will always tell the truth,” he stated, claiming he isn’t seeking fame or attention.
Known for his provocative style and contentious remarks, Sandro wrapped up his message with his signature bold tone: “The Vampirash will never deceive you.”
The clash between the two has sparked divided opinions on social media. While many users support Samantha Espineira and criticize Sandro Castro’s “quest for notoriety,” others believe the dictator’s grandson’s account.
